QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The term “Vital or Life Force”
Also known as qi, prana, bioplasma, biofield etc. is an unseen energy field that permeates everything in the universe, from the smallest living cell, to planets and galaxies – nothing would exist without it. It can only be measured and observed through the interaction of energy fields (electromagnetic field or vibrating waves) which exist in and around everything. This vital force functions as an active energetic information system.
Why do energy methods of healing work?
Because our very thoughts are energy, and they have an effect on our energy field because our thoughts easily disrupt the flow of energy. This disruption causes a negative emotional state, which in turn causes a closer focus on the thoughts caused by the trigger event, etc. It’s only by repairing the flow of energy that we can break this cycle. By manipulating the meridian energy system, we can restore the flow of energy and remove the negative emotional state together with the problems linked to it.
What are “Energy Meridians”?
Energy Meridians are internal energy pathways that run through the physical body and which energetically connect to the body’s organs as well as to their subsystems such as the circulatory, endocrine, digestive, nervous systems. These energy meridians and points on the meridians are used in healing techniques such as acupuncture and acupressure.
PROOF THAT ENERGY MERIDIANS EXIST
We know that energy meridian’s exist due to numerous successful such as:
- Robert O Becker’s maps of iso-resistance of skin at acupuncture points;
- a set of experimental data done by Pierre de Vernejoul, where he injected radioactive isotopes into human acupuncture points and then tracked the movement through the body with a gamma imaging camera where the isotopes were observed to travel along acupuncture meridians;
- and Otzi, a 5300-year-old corpse, that had 59 markings on his skin, 80% of which are considered valid modern acupuncture points. We are thus dealing with medical knowledge, based upon the energy meridians, that has been consistently used over a wide area of the Earth’s surface, with only minor change, for about five millennia.
WHAT IS THE AIM OF PSYCHOTHERAPY?
The aim of psychotherapy is to help an individual take back control of their lives, with valued goals, meaningful interactions, which involves not just thought processes but also the maintenance of the physical body.
Why combine other therapies with Psychotherapy? What is missing in all the “schools” of psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy concerns itself with the mind. The dimension that is missing is the physiological link –i.e. the mind-body system. Nothing functions on its own. The mind affects the body. A feeling, thought, memory, fears and/or phobias manifests itself physically in the body, like when you suddenly tense up when you’re confronted by your fear / phobia, or you can’t move, or your heart beats faster, or over time, if not treated, becomes a disease like cancer (physical symptoms). The more intense the memory, the more intense the energy disruption and the more intense the emotional result. That’s where Meridian Psychotherapy comes in.
How does Meridian Psychotherapy incorporate other therapies?
There is a process that is followed, the first stage being that of a Counsellor (communication skills) to bring out the problem, followed by Psychotherapy skills which builds rapport between therapist and client, and addresses the problem. Then any other therapies such as energy psychology, EFT, TFT,EdxTM and/or other therapeutic tools like kinesiology, hypnosis, colour therapy, light therapy, sound therapy, energy healing, herbalism, etc. Once the chosen method / modality has been applied then the client’s response to treatment is analysed and decisions are then made as to whether further treatment is necessary or closure and follow-up.
What is Thought Field Therapy (TFT)
A therapy developed by Dr. Roger Callahan. The treatment consists of having the client focus, or tune in, on their emotional problem while tapping a particular sequence of meridian points directly related to their problem.
What is the difference between TFT and EFT?
EFT is a reductionist ratification of TFT, which makes the overall approach more accessible and easier to learn and practice. Thirteen meridian points are the reduced set of points, reduced by Craig from the possible 361 meridian points to form the mechanical basis of EFT. The first twelve points are always tapped. These twelve points are tapped in sequence after a set-up routine aimed at assisting the client to tune in to the emotional problem and at removing psychological reversal. This is followed by a brain balancing sequence called “9 Gamut”.
What is the Discovery Statement?
The discovery statement is “All negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the body’s energy systems.”
This means that our emotional state is caused by a form of disruption in our body’s energy system, and the cause of this disruption is thought itself. If we experience something, what we think about that experience is what is going to cause a disruption in our physical body, whether it be a heavily charged negative thought and emotion, even if that emotion is over excitement, it can still disrupt our body’s energy systems.
What is SUD (Standard Unit of Discomfort)
SUD’s show a client’s emotional state rating during the course of 24 hours (a day). It was developed by Joseph Wolpe in 1958, and used to evaluate a therapeutic technique called systematic desensitisation. Today, SUDs are a standard evaluative measure of the success of energy psychology treatments.
What are the 3 basic hindrances that can prevent a reduction in SUDs?
- PR (Psychological reversal)
It’s a condition which blocks natural healing and prevents otherwise effective treatments from working. The psychologically reversed state is usually accompanied by negative attitudes and self-sabotaging behaviour. In everyday life, psychological reversal is often recognised as the “psychological block” which prevents us from accomplishing certain tasks with ease. TFT offers rapid and simple treatment for this problem.
- Energy toxins
An energy toxin can cause an allergic reaction but does not produce allergies because it does not provoke a histamine reaction, and allergic antibodies are not present, even the skin tests are negative. Energy toxins block the flow of energy pr qi in the energy system. Fortunately, these energy toxins can be identified by using the techniques of muscle testing found in the practice of applied Kinesiology.
- MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity)
It’s a disorder triggered by exposure to chemicals in the environment. Symptoms may result from a single massive exposure to one or more toxic chemicals or repeated exposures to low doses. Some people are sensitised from a toxic spill or from pesticide spraying while many others develop M.C.S. from long-term exposure to a variety of chemicals used in everyday life. It can also be the result of a variety of conditions which include – Candida overgrowth, nutrient deficiency, a poor functioning endocrine system, and an inability for adequate detoxification. If MCS is found to be your problem, the way forward would be to see your doctor.
What is meant by the term “a psychosomatic disorder”?
A psychosomatic disorder is a physical disorder that is caused by an emotional disturbance. These physical disorders can be gastrointestinal problems such as stomach ulcers, asthmatic attacks, diabetes, hypertension, disturbances in the endocrine system and some aspects of heart disease. Many diseases are directly influenced by the person’s emotional state, such as asthma.
Why can the techniques of Meridian Psychotherapy be beneficial in the treatment of psychosomatic disorders?
Because of this type of physical/emotional linkage, which causes disruption in the body’s energy system, and can be treated successfully by using the various tools of meridian psychotherapy, which clears the disruption, thereby removing the negative energy state. Diseases known to have a significant emotional content are skin disorders where blood vessels and sweat glands can both be affected, digestive disorders (including under and overeating), duodenal ulcers, colitis coupled with chronic diarrhoea, headaches and migraines, and possibly disorders pertaining to the heart and circulatory system.
What’s the difference between “allergy symptoms” and “allergy-like symptoms”?
An allergy symptom is the actual physical response caused by a chemical contaminant, i.e. something in the physical world.
An allergic reaction seems like an “allergic-like symptom” but is actually psychologically based and caused by the client’s emotional history and emotional state
Then you get allergies that are caused by “energy toxins”. Although, the difference between allergy-like reactions and allergy symptoms is not always clear.
A Meridian Psychotherapist can treat “allergy-like symptoms” but cannot treat allergies that are actual physical responses caused by a chemical contaminant of the client being allergic to something in the physical world.
So when a Meridian Psychotherapist treats allergy reactions, we commence to treat a client with what appears to be an allergic reaction by trying to determine if this is a genuine physical/chemical allergy, because then we know, we may not be able to treat it.
The effectiveness of Meridian Psychotherapy modalities with respect to allergies:
Should a client present with allergies, it will be beneficial and no harm will be done if you get a Meridian Psychotherapist to first determine whether the allergies are actual “allergy symptoms” or “allergy-like symptoms” i.e. whether an actual physical response is caused by a chemical contaminant of the client being allergic to something in the physical world or whether an allergic reaction is actually psychologically based and caused by the client’s emotional history and emotional state, or caused by Psychological Reversal or energy toxins. It is always worth checking both psychological reversal and energy toxicity because if the client’s problem can be resolved then the Meridian Psychotherapist has taken an unwanted load off the medical practitioner. Even if the Meridian Psychotherapist cannot resolve the problem they will have done no harm. Plus Meridian Psychotherapy modalities are especially good because many times, medical practitioners cannot pick up the cause of the allergies, therefore a Meridian Psychotherapist can help to either treat the allergy by removing it, or help to narrow it down.
I do not treat a client under the following conditions:
- When a client is undergoing medical treatment without the express consent of the client’s medical practitioner.
- an improperly diagnosed neurosis;
- a condition brought on by alcohol, drugs, or other addictive medium;
- a condition which is a side effect of prescription medicine and therefore the proper domain of the client’s medical practitioner;
- a client with a psychosis (e.g schizophrenia), such conditions require the attention of a psychiatrist.
- Some manifestations of depressive illness, epilepsy, and some breathing problems.
What is a pendulum and what is holistic dowsing?
Holistic Dowsing is a valuable tool for all complementary therapists. It’s helpful, meaningful and gives good results to those who utilise their intuition.
Everyone has the ability to dowse. Our senses are constantly communicating with the world around us and within us. We usually make decisions, consciously or unconsciously as a result of the communication of our senses. Many people are blessed with the gift, whereas others may need to practice it for a while but it is achievable through training. The human brain is not only the most efficient computer in the world, it’s true powers are unlimited and vastly underestimated. Dowsing taps into your natural powers to communicate and translate important messages from your physical body and soul about information that you most likely did not know before.
Although dowsing has a reputation for being associated with witchcraft and paganism but the idea that dowsing is evil or negative could not be further from the truth. Dowsing is your body’s own energy communicating with you and connecting you to the world around you to find out information.
What are solfeggio tone frequencies?
Energy is vibration and vibration is everything. Every vibration has its own frequency. By exposing the mind and body to the Solfeggio frequencies, you achieve a greater sense of balance and deep healing. The Solfeggio frequencies aligns you with the rhythms and tones that form the basis of the universe.
In more detail:
Solfeggio frequencies make up the ancient 6-tone scale thought to have been used in sacred music, including the Gregorian Chants. Each Solfeggio tone is comprised of a frequency required to balance your energy and keep your body, mind and spirit in perfect harmony.
The original Solfeggio scale was developed by a Benedictine monk, Guido d’Arezzo in 991 AD. Today we use the Solfeggio scale of seven ascending notes assigned to the syllables Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti, but the original scale was six ascending notes assigned to the syllagbles Ut-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol-La.
The 6 six Solfeggio frequencies are:
396 Hz (which liberates guilt and fear)
417 Hz (which undoes situations and facilitates change)
528 Hz (which allows transformation, miracles and DNA Repair)
639 Hz (which deals with connections / relationships)
741 Hz (which allows expressions / and brings solutions)
852 Hz (which brings one back to a Spiritual Order, as we are all spiritual beings)
During therapy treatment when solfeggio frequencies are required as a healing tool, the following 9 solfeggio frequencies are used:
174 Hz – a natural anaesthetic which helps remove physical pain. This frequency gives the organs a sense of security, safety and love, and motivates them to function at optimal levels.
285 Hz – useful when treating wounds, cuts, burns or any other form of damaged tissue. This frequency is said to be directly connected to our body´s, mind and soul´s blueprint for optimal health and wellbeing, as it has the ability to remember what should be and thus to return our cells to their original form. It influences energy fields sending them message to restructure damaged organs. It remembers and heals us, our internal organs and our levels of energy.
396 Hz – Cleanses feelings of guilt and fear and helps with goal achievement and grounding purposes.
417Hz – Cleanses traumatic experiences, clears destructive influences of past events and energises our cells. It can be used for cleaning limiting beliefs so that life goals can be achieved. In cellular repair, the tone ‘Re’ encourages cells and DNA to function optimally.
528 Hz – Used to help return DNA to its original, perfect state. Repairing of the DNA increases the amount of life energy, clarity of mind, awareness, and activates creativity. It also enhances ecstatic states like deep inner peace and joy. It opens the mine to experience deep spiritual enlightenment.
639 Hz – Enables creation of harmonious relationships. It can be used for dealing with relationships problems – those in family, between partners, friends or social problems. It encourages the communication of cells in the body with the vibrations in the environment. In general, it enhances communication, understanding, tolerance and love.
741 Hz – Cleans cells from toxins. Frequent use of this frequency leads to a healthier, simpler life, and is noted to affect mindset with regards to diet, encouraging the eating of more toxin-free foods. It cleans the cells from electromagnetic radiations. This frequency also cleanses the body from infections – viral, bacterial, and fungal.
852 Hz – This frequency is connected to the brow chakra (third eye) and can be used to awaken one’s inner strength & self realisation. It dissolves blocked mental energy and clears up energy blockages that hinder clear communication with the higher self, and the Spiritual Realm.
963 Hz – This tone awakens any system to its original, perfect state. It’s connected with the Light and all-embracing Spirit, and enables direct experience, the return to Oneness. This frequency re-connects us with the Spirit, or the non-vibrational energies of the Universe and is said to enable the experience of Oneness – our true nature.
